About Sunskool
Is your school a Sunskool? Sunskools use the power of the sun to generate electricity! Each Sunskool looks for green solutions that help save our planet and demonstrate to students, teachers and the community what can be accomplished when people really try!
Solar panels on the roof of a Sunskool generate electricity to run lights, computers and other school appliances. On sunny days, if your school generates more power than it uses that extra electricity is exported to the main power grid. On overcast days and at night, if your school needs more power it is imported automatically from the main powerlines.
The Sunskool website provides up-to-the-minute information about how much energy each Sunskool is generating and how much energy the school is using. (These generation and consumption monitoring figures are only available if you have the appropriate equipment installed at your school.) You can see your school’s information at a glance with colourful graphs that update each time you visit the website.
